The Institute of Grappling

Grappling club based in Hendon and Finchley. We specialise in Submission Grappling and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, training in various rule sets, including ADCC, IBJJF, and others.

The club is headed by Ed Ingamells, a 3nd degree black belt in BJJ under Nick Brooks, relatively successful competitor in Submission Wrestling, and failed academic.

We focus on developing students skills through protocols and methods based on current motor learning research and skill acquisition, as opposed to ‘tradition’. Our training is guided by an ecological dynamics framework with an approach that is centred around representative design and providing students with an environment that foster progression.
